Posting for: Monday April 18, 2005

Yes I'm still alive! 6 weeks have past since my last posting and to be honest... I really haven't even had time to even THINK about posting my news.

Highlights - My New Obsession - Barbie a Grandmother?? - Semi Empty Nest  - Barbie, a Game Hostess Again? (look out Vanna White) - Chocolate, My Favorite Enemy - Future Plans for Barbie's Virtual Corner - Mikey's News.

My New Obsession

I'm 44 and not normally "star struck". But Constantine makes me googly eyed. He makes me giggle like a school girl. I swoon over his videos. I look at websites to see pictures of him and hear gossip about him. I patiently, breathlessly wait for Tuesday nights to see him perform. I'm sick, sick I say! He's more powerful than heroin. I can't explain it. Sure, he's cute. And talented. But there are plenty of cute and talented men in the media. There's something about Constantine, though. Maybe it's because, when I was a little girl and just starting to notice older boys, they looked like David Cassidy. And Constantine's got that look. Who knows? All I know is that I'm hopelessly, pathetically lost in his gravitational field.  If Demi Moore can do it, so can I ?!?! What happened to my alternate identity as a mature, sane woman?!?! Semi Empty Nest - Well Jeremy and Candace are gone now.. they went to Arizona to work then they are off to Washington State to work until about July. The only kiddo I have left at home again is Mikey. Some days it feels good not to have so many kids at home but then there are days when I wish I could have all of them back home!  I miss them so much when they aren't here and I could SCREAM when they are.... is this normal or are there meds for this sort of thing?  I have a feeling that when Candace and Jeremy come back in July that I will have to add an extra bedroom. Rumor has it that they are going to Nevada in a few weeks to get married. What's that old rhyme?? First comes LOVE then comes MARRIAGE.. then comes a baby in a BABY CARRIAGE?? Jeremy tells EVERYONE.. including Candace, my mom, my dad, his oldest brother and all his buddies that he's NEVER leaving home.. he said his mom needs him!! Awwww how sweet.. or IS IT?? hehe  Jeremy is a very independent young man, he pays all his bills on time, saves his money for things that may happen in the future.. I highly doubt that he's just  freeloading off of me. I think he's genuinely concerned about me and wants to be around to help me out. I guess I better be nice to him.. he's the one who will be picking out my nursing home in about 30 years and I better get started on that extra bedroom for the "baby". HA-HA

Me A Game Host Again?? - Yes it's true... Since the kids are gone now I have more time on my hands than I have the past year. So I am hosting Spades Games again for
KIS on Gamespy every Wednesday and Sunday Night at 7:30 pm est.

Chocolate My Favorite Enemy - Since the kids are grown up now and don't believe in the Easter Bunny anymore I NEVER buy Easter Baskets and Easter Candy until AFTER Easter.  No matter how old kids get they still want their Easter Baskets.. and wouldn't have them any other way than what they were used to getting when they were small children. Yes, they have to have them FILLED to the top with candy and if ya forget the fuzzy little stuffed bunny in it they have a fit!  Well this year as every year I made a trip down to the store 3 days after Easter to hunt for the 75% off bargins.  I hit the jackpot.. they even had some hollow plastic Easter eggs left.. no colored grass though.. that kinna sucked!  Since I had an extra "child" this year (Candace) I decided that I better buy more candy than normal. After carefully selecting the candy. baskets and stuffed toys... I took it all up to the register to have the check out girl tally it up. "That'll be $23.67 please." she said.  (full price would have been over $70.00) I paid for it.. went home, made the baskets and set them on the breakfast bar for the kids. THEN I went back to the kitchen table to clean up my mess.. "WHAT THE HELL!?!?" I think to myself. I had like 4 - 5 extra bags of chocolate Easter eggs.. rieces Easter candy and misc. chocolate!! I love chocolate.. especially if it's around THE QUESTION IS...... Do I just eat it.. or do I smear it straight onto my HIPS and ASS... that's where it's gonna end up anyway?!?!? Want some chocolate?? I have plenty left!  Click HERE to see! hehe

Mikey's News - Well Mikey got his Elvis TCB (taken care of business) ring and he's thrilled! If you read my previous posting for March 1st you know that we got it from a man in Arizona off of eBay. It was just as pretty as it looked in the pictures that he sent us! Click HERE to see it!  I'm afraid to let him wear it to school but on occasion I let him as long as hes being taken AND picked up.. I'm just too afraid he will get jacked for his bling  bling.

Mikey is a working man! Remember JD?? I mentioned him in last posting.. well he gave Mikey a part time job for now.. he worked Last Saturday and made $40.00 for 5 hours work. JD and his ex brother in law have a landscaping company.. so they put Mikey to work.  He only came home with $35.00 though.. apparently  he broke a key and they made him pay $5.00 to replace it.  We've got to take responsibility for our mishaps even when you're just 13.. it's the only way to learn!!  JD says that Mikey can help them out full time this summer.. let's hope that Mikey can handle it.. he has no idea what real work is.. his brothers learned young but being my youngest  and since I have more money than when they were small, he's basically had EVERYTHING he wants... handed to him on a silver platter.. my fault.. now it's time to straighten it out! With the help of some good friends I am sure we can do it!

Barbie a Grandmother?? - Not really but ONE little guy thinks so! I just have to tell you this story! A few weekends ago JD, his wife Emily and their 2 yr old son Christopher were here for Sunday Dinner. JD basically grew up with my son Jeremy and was here a lot when he was younger  but I have only met his wife and son a few times. They've recently started coming over quite often. I was standing out in the kitchen with the 3 of them and I noticed Christopher eyeballing the cookie jar when much to EVERYONE'S surprise he walks over to me and says "Gramma can I have a Cookie?" hahahahaaaaa  Oh the look on JD and Emily's face was funny.. I have never acted my own age so they think of me more as a peer than an elder.. they didn't know what to say.. you could tell by the looks on their faces that they were embarrassed!!  To lighten the situation I said.. "Sure hun you can have cookies anytime you come to Gramma's house!"  Needless to say that title has stuck.. they even left some of his toys here so Christopher has something to play with when he comes to "Gramma's"

Future Plans for Barbie's Virtual Corner - I have a lot of things that I'm planning on doing here.. it's just finding the time to do it.  I have always made decorations for myleague.com pages but the huge # of requests started to overwhelm me. It got to a point that that's all I was doing with my spare time and it just wasn't fun anymore.  Soooo I started charging for them.. now I have more to do than I did before but at least Im getting paid for it!  Man if I would have known that so many people would pay me for them I would have started charging a long time ago!!  You can check out the designs by Clicking here...
